Ep 301 – Pat the Hat Storyteller in Manchester and West Midlands Irish Business Group Awards

In Part 1… We’re at Manchester Central Library to meet Pat the Hat (Pat Speight) who is a traditional storyteller, over from Cork. He was reading stories to young and old as part of “International Mother Language Day”. The event, organised by the Irish Consulate, is part of their long-term plan to keep traditional storytelling alive and to pass tales of Ireland on those living in the UK.

Sarah Mangan, Consul General of Ireland to the North of England joins us along with Vice Consul, Carina O’Brien.

In part 2… Eileen Schofield, owner and founder of Schofield & Associates is organising the West Midlands Irish Business Group Awards. This celebratory event for all Irish businesses operating in the Midlands, is being run for the first time on 24th March at the Hogarth Hotel, Solihull. It’ll be a lively event with good food, entertainment and a great chance to network.

We play the show out with a new track by The Remedy Club, “Back to You”
