Ep 267 – Immigrant Support Programme at the Irish Embassy and 25 years (plus one!) of “Leeds Irish Health and Homes”

This week…

In Part 1… We’re in London at the Irish Embassy. At an event hosted by Adrian O’Neill, the Irish Ambassador to the UK, we meet those that have benefited from the support provided by the Irish Government. Comhaltas and community support programmes are amongst those that have benefitted from the multi-million Pound grants distributed form Ireland.
Ambassador O’Neill talks with passion about support for local projects and addresses the issue of the UK government’s attempts to change the border controls into Ireland.

In part 2… We’re celebrating 25 years, plus 1, of Leeds Irish Health and Homes. The plus 1 comes from the previous year that we’d all probably prefer to forget about!
We interview Ant Hanlon, the Chief Executive behind Irish Health and Homes and meet the team that run this fantastic organisation, supporting those in need in Leeds and the surrounding area.

Sarah Mangan, Consul General of Ireland joins us for the festivities along with the Lord Mayor of Leeds, Councillor Robert Getting.
