Ep 310 – Looking Ahead to the Northern Community Gaelic Games and Remembering Kevin McCaughey

We start the programme at Broughton Park in Manchester, looking ahead to the annual Northern Community Gaelic Games. With over 800 young people and their families attending last year, the 2023 event is all set to be so much bigger.

We talk to Sean Hopkins, Vice President of the GAA in Britain about how the plans are progressing. Taking place on Friday 26th and Saturday 27th of May, the event needs more volunteers. Can you help?

Kevin McCaughey was a well-respected member of the Irish community in Birmingham. Moving to the UK in 1953, he had been a passionate fundraiser for good causes as well as a prominent member of the Birmingham Pipe Band. He sadly died in 2022.

His friends tell his story as we celebrate his life at a music and dance event at St Francis Centre in Birmingham.
