Ep 333 Traditional Music at Nortons Bar and a Visit to the Griffin Lynch School of Irish Dance

In Part 1… We’re in Digbeth, at Norton’s Bar for a day of all things Irish. Spoken word, singing and traditional music.

We speak to musicians Marian Dwyer, Spencer McAndrew and Jake Davies about the Irish events that they run at Nortons. It’s music for all and an opportunity to learn, or refresh, your spoken and sung Irish language.

In Part 2… We pay a visit to the highly successful Griffin Lynch School of Irish Dance. We chat to the founders, Richard Griffin and Maggie Lynch.

Also, Grace Miles, an award winning dancer explains how the dance school has been her life and although she’s off the university, the dancing won’t stop. Her mum and grandparents talk to us about the huge dedication required to support a top flight dancer.

Lots of great music, energetic dancing and insights into the world of Irish song and dance. You’re never too old to give things a try!
