Ep 338 – The London Lasses Perform at Bradford Playhouse and Boxing at The Warrington Irish Club

In Part 1… Celebrating their twenty-fifth year, the London Lasses pay a visit to the Bradford Playhouse. Invited by Conor MacMahon of the Bradford Irish Society, it’s a brilliant evening of traditional Irish music. We talk to the “Lasses” and hear about the evolving line-up of the group over the last 25 years

In Part 2… Across to Warrington to the Irish Club for a charity boxing event. This long standing event was born out of The Troubles, as part of a reconciliation programme. Young boxers from Ireland travel to the UK to take on the home-grown talent. The Irish club was packed to the rafters for this popular day of sport. We talk to Chris Whitehead and James Keenan from the club and hear from Derek Ahern of the Dublin City University Boxing Club.

We also pay tribute to the late Frank O’Brien of the Warrington Irish Club.
