This week, we pay a visit to Walmgate in York where there is an exhibition highlighting the story of Irish immigrants, escaping The Potato Famine.
Many settled in the 1840s, living in overcrowded and unsanitary accommodation located next to the city’s ancient walls.
We speak to local historians and get an insight into the lives of those escaping poverty and making a new life in the UK.
