Ep 474 – 40 Years of the Irish World Heritage Centre and President Catherine Connolly’s visit to Leeds

This week’s programme celebrates the strength and vibrancy of the Irish community through two very special events.

In part 1, we visit the Irish World Heritage Centre as it marks 40 years at the heart of the community with “Irish Pulse”, a celebration of Irish music, poetry and dance. The event brings together talented performers and audiences to honour the Centre’s rich cultural legacy.

In part 2, we follow the historic visit of Ireland’s President, Catherine Connolly, to the Leeds Irish Centre during her first official visit to Britain. We capture the warm welcome she received from the local Irish community, hear highlights from her address, and reflect on the Centre’s enduring role in preserving Irish heritage and supporting generations of Irish people in Yorkshire.
