This week on The Irish in the UK
We’re at a fantastic lively event from Christ the King Parish Hall in Alfreton. The Entertainment ranges from Indian dance to traditional Irish music to Jimmy Cricket!
The performance was organised by Gerry Molumby as a fundraiser for schools in Africa.
Bishop John Ryan from Mzuzu Diocese in Malawi, along with Fr.Edmond Nyoka are helping the local community set up schools. Malawi is one of the world’s poorest nations and having access to a classroom and formal education is not guaranteed. Gerry’s fundraising event puts the spotlight on this situation and hopes to raise enough money to buy desks and badly needed books and other stationary.
It’s a fast paced evening of entertainment and we bring you some fantastic highlights, including chatting to Jimmy Cricket about his career in comedy and how he’s about to celebrate 50 years of performing.
Music from Kelly’s Heroes and Louie Walsh to keep the Irish Factor turned up to 11!
Sit back and absorb the amazing diversity that we bring to you!
