Ep 298 – 83 Year Old Michael Ellis Searches For His Missing Family

Michael Ellis came from Ireland to Manchester, England in the late 60s. Like many of his generation, this was the start of life’s great adventure.

He was married, had three children and life was treating him well but for Michael, there was something missing. At just 4 weeks old, he had been fostered and since then had no idea where he came from, who his parents were and if he had any siblings.

This is a story that many will relate to. A young woman having a baby on her own in the early 20^th Century, her options were limited.

We hear Michael’s story of growing up in rural Ireland, working hard for next to nothing and the challenges he faced trying to unravel his past.

Roll forward to 2021 and DNA testing is suddenly something that we can all do. This simple test finds others around the world that share your genetic information, and suddenly you have family!
