In Part 1… We’re in Manchester for International Woman’s Day. We join the parade with the Irish community and meet the women behind Fréa.
A year since its official formation, Fréa brings together three independent Irish charities from the North of England, working in partnership to further extend the ethos of care, culture and community.
Among others, we talk to Sarah Mangan, Consul General of Ireland to the North of England, who officially launched Fréa last year.
With interviews from Breege McDaid, Director of Irish Community Care in Merseyside, Carla Stockton-Jones , UK Managing Director of Stagecoach Group and Eimear Maguire, Director of Maguire Family Law.
With a great turn out from the local Irish community, it’s music, marching and empowerment!
In part 2… The Fiddlers Green pub in Levenshulme has been run by Bridie and James Rodden since October 1990. After years of faithful service to the community, they’re pulling their last pints and taking a well-deserved retirement. Bridie and James have many good stories to tell about life as publicans, and we reflect on those that have come in through the doors over that last 32 years. Running a pub is all about the friendships that you make and the popular couple will be missed by so many.
