In Part 1… Back from the Championships in Canada, the Ward-Mallinson School of Irish Dance are straight back into training for their next round of Irish Dance competitions. Performing at world-class level requires dedication and determination.
We talk to Justine Ward and find out how much effort goes into making the championships. We’re also joined by award winning dancer, Olivia Ni Baolain who has danced for the Ward-Mallinson School for most of her life. She’s managed to have a successful career outside of dance, raise a family and still put in the hours and hours of practice to stay at the top of her game.
In Part 2… Garry Scott and his “Your Lancashire” programme forms part of the fabric of BBC Local Radio. He’s supported the community for many years and gives a voice to those that might not normally be heard and to great local stories. We meet Garry and his producer, Chris Thornley and find out just what it is that binds the community to Radio Lancashire.
