Ep 312 – St Brendan’s GAA Manchester Annual Dinner Dance with guest speaker, Jim McGuinness

We’re at the St Brendan’s GAA club annual Dinner Dance at the Cresta Court Hotel in Altringham celebrating the club’s success.

Jim McGuinness, Donegal All Ireland winner from ’92 is the guest speaker. Jim has also had a successful managerial career across different codes, firstly with his home team Donegal and later with Celtic.

We talk with the team behind the evening’s event and get an insight into what it’s like being a “forward looking” GAA club. For St Brendan’s, it’s all about nurturing the under-age players and bringing them up through the age groups into the adult games. Without home-grown players, GAA clubs have relied on players from across the Irish Sea but not so at St Brendan’s.

There’s some lively music and even livelier dancing.
