This week, we have a look at the colourful St Patrick’s Day celebrations in the North West of England, focusing on the vibrant parades in Manchester and Warrington. There’s a mix of parade footage, music, and community moments, highlighting strong cultural ties between Ireland and these local communities.
We have interviews with Cillian O’Kelly, Consul General of Ireland for the North of England and John Cummins TD, Irish Minister of State at the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage who reflect on the roles that these celebrations play in strengthening connections between Ireland and the UK.
We celebrate not only the spectacle of the parades but also the enduring cultural bonds and community spirit at the heart of St Patrick’s Day festivities.
Watch The Irish in the UK every Tuesday night at 8.00 pm on SKY 588, Freeview 279, YouTube and Facebook. Repeated on Sky and Freeview every Wednesday at 9.30 pm.
