In Part 1… We’re with the Accrington Pipe Band, as they meet for their rehearsals. Formed in 1885, the pipe band performs at many events around the world and always gives their distinctive sound to St Patrick’s Day parades.
We hear about their history and what it takes to play for this prestigious band.
In Part 2… We’re at The Parish Church of St. John, Ainsdale, Southport where the community is building a peace garden as a place where people can come together for quiet reflection.
Named after Elsie Dot Stancombe, a victim of the Southport stabbings, the garden has been built entirely through goodwill and donations.
We join the community for a fundraising Irish night, supported by musician Peter Mylett
