This week on the Irish in the UK the Birmingham Irish Association have launched a new community food bank appeal alongside Warwickshire GAA and more particularly the four GAA clubs who are based in Birmingham, John Mitchels, Sean McDermotts, Erin go Brath and St Brendan’s.
They have committed to co-ordinate the gathering of non-perishable food donations, this will see non perishables collected locally at club selected venues and at pre-scheduled times and delivered to St Anne’s. This initiative mirrors the GAA’s ‘Club together’ cause, an initiative to help the elderly who do not have family and friends to support them during the current restrictions.
