This week on The Irish in the UK TV… In this two part special, we meet Danny Tim O Sullivan, his family, colleagues and friends for a celebration of becoming a Freeman of the City of London. Danny left Ireland in 1971 and through hard work and a supporting family, worked his way up, ultimately establishing the Danny Sullivan Group in the 80s. In 2004, he was named Kerry Person of the Year in London and a few years later, received the same accolade in Dublin from the Kerry Association. Dan Tim is not your everyday success story! He’s massively popular and charismatic and hundreds turned out as he “walked his sheep” over Southwark Bridge, exercising his right as a Freeman, at the biggest ever turn out for this annual event! He also has made huge donations to charitable causes, big and small, but never seeks praise, preferring just to do the right thing. In 2017, Dan Tim became seriously ill but despite the huge odds, pulled through. As a result, he now supports the National Brain Appeal, raising huge sums for them.
It’s a hugely lively and entertaining programme, full of stories, music, dancing and some sheep!
There’s also a song dedicated to Dan Tim by PJ Murrihy.
