The Irish in the UK – Ep 228 – Fiddler of London! We see the amazing performances of Fiddlers from around the world!

This week, we pay a visit to the Irish Cultural Centre in Hammersmith London.
In 2019, the world of Eilish Byrne-Whelehan was turned upside down with the sudden death of her husband Justin. Together they had planned to re-instate “The Fiddler of London” and now this dream has been made a reality.
Hundreds of fiddle players from around the world submitted films of their performances with the hope of becoming the ultimate winner, “The Fiddler of London”.
We see award winning playing across all age groups and are treated to a visual and audio feast.
The competition, in memory of the late Justin Whelehan, culminates in live performances and award ceremonies, where we experience the amazing talent of the finalists.
