This week, we start in London to meet the CEO of PLMR, Kevin Craig, dash across to Liverpool for the Lifestyle Awards and then to Luton to meet Patricia Gaughan.
In Part 1… Kevin Craig founded PLMR in 2006 since when it has become the UK’s Top 100 and the World’s Top 250 communications firms. He is an elected politician in London local government and was a member of Labour’s 2001 General Election Communications Team. He’s also a regular face on many TV discussion programmes.
Having grown up on a South London Council estate as the son of Irish immigrants who came to London in the 1960’s, Kevin has insisted that philanthropy and corporate social responsibility have been at the core of PLMR’s values since day one, overseeing over £250,000 of charitable donations by the business since its founding.
The charity, Elizabeth’s Legacy of Hope, of which he is a trustee, nominated him to carry the Olympic Torch on the eve of the London 2012 Olympics.
As a fundraiser, he also actively supports The Royal Trinity Hospice, and has a room there named after his late mother.
In Part 2… We’re in Liverpool for the Lifestyle Awards. We meet Shoonagh & Kevin De La Cruz, the team behind the highly successful Restaurant, L’Olivetto. The awards keep on coming for this popular family run restaurant. Shoonagh’s family are there to join in the celebrations, including her sisters Claire Hynes and Emma Brickland. Emma talks about how her construction business, Eurogold Group, coped during the pandemic. We also meet the flamboyant Ammanda Moss, PR consultant and promoter of the Lifestyle awards.
Then, across to Luton to meet Patricia Gaughan. Made redundant during lock-down, she’s set up her own business, Trinity Hampers, distributing traditional Irish produce all over the world!
